Leonard Baskin: The Great American Artist + Contributor to the FDR Memorial. Please join us on Thursday, October 6, 2002, at 6 p.m. EST for a conversation with Richard Michelson, founder of R. Michelson Galleries.
The acclaimed Leonard Baskin (August 15, 1922 – June 3, 2000) created the centerpiece of Room Four at the FDR Memorial--the heart-rending 30-foot-long bas-relief in bronze entitled The Funeral Cortege that represents the nation in mourning.
Baskin was Michelson’s mentor, collaborator, and close friend. Join us at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom for this up-close and personal view of Baskin’s impact on the Memorial and American memory from someone who lived it.
The webinar will begin at 6:00 p.m. EDT via Zoom.
ASL will be provided.
